I am searching for information or family line for my g g grand father Thomas Maxwell, verbal family history has him coming from Donegal Ireland, not sure on a date but before 1862. He married Mary Ann Mode from Morgan County In in 1865, he served with the Co. k17 Illinois Cavalry from 1862-1864. he is buried in Bedford Iowa. I show him in the 1895-1900 taylor county Iowa census records. And I have a newspaer abstract that says, "Thomas Maxwell Donegal Ireland born 1836, died Lincoln NE 1924, 7 children, married Mary Calvin. F. James Maxwell"   I am not certain if this him, the birth date appears correct, he had 8 children I beleive. His wifes first name was Mary but not Mary Calvin, and this was ran in 3 of the town newspapers in his hometown of Bedford Iowa. The only other thomas of that time frame in that area Ive found is his son who lived to be 100 1967. Little lost as to what to do to get another step farther with the information I have.
