I am looking for more info on the parents of Archibald Maxwell, b. abt. 1801, Scotland.  He lived in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland in 1837 (Directory) and in 1841 (Census).  He was in New York for the 1850 census.  He was a Tailor.  His wife was Elizabeth "Eliza" b. abt. 1806 Scotland (Possibly Elizabeth Shearer). His children were: James b. abt. 1831, Scotland - Tailor; Elizabeth "Eliza" - b. abt. 1833, Ayrshire, Scotland; William  - b. abt. 1840, Ayshire, Scotland; John, b. abt. 1842, Scotland. They all seem to disappear after the 1850 census in New York City. James may be James Alexander Maxwell. Any info is appreciated.
