My great grandfather arrived out from Kilsyth in 1874... his brother Henry arrived the same year on a different ship... their sister who was widowed Christina Gray arrived in the 1880s with her son Alexander. My Greatgrandfather's name was John McLeish Maxwell... his father was Alexander who was married to Agnes McLeish. My father is Douglas McLeish MAXWELL.. any connection? Incidently both brothers married sisters... daughters of John Watson who came to NZ the same year with his family from Kilsyth .I did have a search done for me in the 1970s which traces the family back to 1630s...Look forward to your reply- Barbara
