James Homer Maxwell, born 14 AUG 1756 in Bristol, England, died 11 AUG 1827 in New York. He married Katherine Van Zandt on 22 MAY 1787 in New York City They had two children, William Hooper Maxwell b: 19 JUL 1789 in New York City and Marion Margaret Maxwell b: 2 APR 1791 in New York City. I am no suggesting that this William H Maxwell is one and the same as yours but there is clearly  chance that yours may be a son or grandson of this one. You really must find out what the H. in your William H. Maxwell is for.  This is an important Maxwell as he carries the chiefly line of the whole Maxwell family.
