I am searching for Alexander L. Maxwell, born @ 1835, probably in NC.  He married Elizabeth Snell on July 14, 1854. They had 2 children: Sarah Louise (Sallie) b. 1855, and William Maxwell, b. 1857 and d. May, 1870.  He served in the Civil War and was killed near Winchester, VA.  His widow, Elizabeth Snell Maxwell later married my gr-gr-grandfather William Francis Foley and died giving birth to his son.  Any help to locate Alexander or Elizabeth Snell Maxwell will be appreciated.
