Are you related to Peter Menard Maxwell?  I would like some information on his whereabouts here in Texas.  I have found only vague references to him the in the Illinois book. I saw his name on the monument in San Jacinto, Texas.   Was he really captured in 1836 and taken to Mexico City when the Texans tried to take over New Mexico?
