William Maxwell was born c.1832 in Co.Down, Ireland, possibly Killaney parish.  He is the brother of my G.Grandfather, John, who emigrated to Australia in 1863.  William was ordained a Minister in the Presbyterian Church in Belfast and went to Scotland about 1862 to work as a "Missionary Minister".  He married Jessie ADAM, a native Scot. in 1864 in the High Church, Paisley.  They 2 daughters, Jessie Adam MAXWELL and Martha Jane MAXWELL.  William and family moved around Scotland for quite a number of years and were friends with another Minister, John WALLACE, who had been performing Missionary duties in New Zealand.  John WALLACE'S children, Agnes, Andrew and Jessie, had all been born in N.Z.  William died, after his wife, Jessie, in June 1917 and was buried in Dunoon Cemetry, in the County of Argyll.  Does anybody have any connection to William MAXWELL or John WALLACE even in N.Z.
