I am told that I am descended from this gentleman.  In particular through a son of his who supposedly ran off with a girl from the mill.  This was a disgrace and he was 'cut off without a penny'.  Can anyone tell me if there is any evidence of this at all - or is it all in the minds of my forbears.  The name Maxwell is very strong in our family - not as a surname though - so I have no idea of what stage it went (supposedly through a female).  Thanks so much.
