Just a short note on this subject, Eustace Maxwell was a Major at the end of WWII, and bought Morris Hall Farm, Norham-on-Tweed, Northumberland after he left the army. My father who owned a carpenters business in Norham worked for Major Maxwell on many projects on the farm, he even built a marine plywood hard top for the Major's Land Rover to the Major's own design. Maxwell was a lover of fast cars and had an Alfa Romeo and a Hotchkiss.

His farm was modern and he bred pigs as well as growing potatoes and sugar beet. As has been stated, he died suddenly in the late 1950s.
