Trying to learn the history of my Maxwell line PRIOR to arriving in Australia. Because of my DNA results, I have determined that my Australian Maxwells went from Scotland to Ireland to Australia. Looking for info on ROBERT Maxwell married to Alice Walmsley (married in Ireland). Trying to trace their roots in Ireland and Scotland. It seems impossible to trace a Robert Maxwell (there were hundreds). The Australian first name progression of my ancestors was Robert, John, and John Robert.  Robert & Alice arrived in Australia with family in 1841 under Assisted Immigrant status on the ship James Mathieson. Ship's records show parents deceased, and that Robert was from Agherenny/or Aghareny, Fermanagh County, Ireland. He was listed as a ploughman, and Alice listed as a milk maid. Robert most likely lied about his age and used his baptism record year as his birth year - 1802. Lived in Sydney, Australia  general area. Can anyone help? Maybe put me on the right path?  Thank you so much!
