I am looking for information about John Maxwell of Fingalton in Renfrewshire Scotland who passed on the lands of Fingalton to Walter Logan husband of Margaret Mitchell around 1780 as part of a marriage contract.  This transfer is listed in the books of Sassines for Renfrewshire.  The Logan family had just returned to Glasgow from Perth Amboy New York where Walter Logan Snr had been Comptroller of Customs.
