Title: Maxwells of Aberdeen, late 1700s/early 1800s

Hi again cousins
just in case my other posts got overlooked due to the New Zealand references, I am looking for family background of Maxwells from Aberdeen, Scotland during the late 1700s & early 1800s.  I am especially trying to trace the lineage of my ancestor Thomas Maxwell, who was probably a ship-builder by trade and is remembered as a very industrious and entrepeneurial man.  He left Scotland for either New Zealand or Australia during the early part of the 1800s, some time between 1810 & 1837.  There may have also been a close family member at the time called Sarah Maxwell, and names such as Patrick, Robert, Andrew, John, James and George are also probably recurrent in this branch of the family.  I know that's pretty vague, sorry, but it's all we have to go on.  We have plenty of information about Thomas's life in New Zealand and the generations thereafter, but would also love to be able to trace back to our roots in Scotland.  Thanks heaps.
