A simple request that if you come across any stray Maxwells in your searches which may be of interest to other researches, that you then consider posting it in this forum. In the last year I decided to copy, paste and post any interesting Maxwell info I came across which did not directly relate to my own search. I hope that this info may help someone somewhere sometime to either find their lost Maxwell rellie or give some closure as to what became of them The only criteria I had was that there must be a clearly identifiable name, preferably with a location and year I have a few rellies of my own who went out into the world in the mid 1800s and were lost to us forever. I hope if someone finds info on them that they will think to post it here. Although they are long gone they have NEVER been forgotten- My missing Maxwells are Thomas Maxwell -Scotsman,born circa 1800, mariner who was in NSW and NZ around 1830+ John Maxwell ( aka Hone) left New Zealand for UK 1850ish George Maxwell left NZ lived in the Islands and California beofre returning to NZ, serching for info of his life, know he was shot on the Goldfields in California and survived James Maxwell went to NSW Australia |
