Hi william. I am also looking for a William Maxwell. He was born in Ireland according to his records we have here in South Africa. We have conflicting years of birth ranging from 1886 to 1876. He left a next of kin in 1916 on his SA army papers as being a MOLLY HART at 57 Foyle Road, Londonderry. He also mentioned his brother was killed in a chainsaw accident. Not sure if its work or farm related. Does any of this ring a bell. It would seem that ther are 1000's of William and John Maxwells.
