Dear William Our ancestors may have been related? My gg grandfather was John Maxwell (born Ardstraw circa 1800 - son of Robert Maxwell and Ann Patterson) married Elizabeth Evans (daughter of Samuel Evans and Sarah Cunningham). John, Elizabeth and children emigrated to Australia in 1838. Their children were: John Thomas MAXWELL b: 29 Dec 1829 in Ardstraw, Tyrone, Ireland Sarah MAXWELL b: 1831 in Ardstraw, Tyrone, Ireland William James MAXWELL b: 1833 in Ardstraw, Tyrone, Ireland Ann MAXWELL b: 1837 in Ardstraw, Tyrone, Ireland Elizabeth MAXWELL b: 1841 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Margaret Jane MAXWELL b: 1842 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Samuel MAXWELL b: 1845 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia I am descended from William James Maxwell.
