Greg, I think I communicated with you years ago. Our line goes back to Samuel of Brooke/Hancock county through Samuel Scott Maxwell. About the information on Samuel's death certificate. I may have been the one who reported that to you after a visit to that courthouse. It does indeed say he ( Samuel) was born in Ireland. Because Uncle Ed (Edmond) was known to be a sanguine story teller and his little book, while treasure, is full of errors - I accepted the information on the "official" death certificate as gospel - trumping Edmond's info. Today however (My daughter has enticed me back into this pit ( genealogy). :-) I found on the 1850 census where Samuel had declared that he was born in Penn. wow! I guess that changes things.
