Title: Henry Maxwell b. 1730 Scot/Ireland
Posted by: Josette L. Maxwell

Henry Maxwell is said to have been sent to his aunt and uncle (Walter and Agness Carson) in Ireland who brought him to the U.S. Or, he escaped from Scotland with his uncle and fled to Ireland for a few years, then on to the U.S. He was born c. 1730, died in Pennsylvania in 1791. His sons were named Thomas, Walter, Samuel, John, James, Henry and Robert. He may have had a brother Robert Maxwell b. c 1713 already in the U.S. I'm looking for any connection in Scotland between the Carson family and the Maxwell family c. 1700 to 1730 or in Ireland. There is some evidence that Walter Carson may have been in Kilmore Parish, Armagh County Ireland. The possibility exists that Henry was not his first name; have been unable to locate Parish Records in Scotland for a Henry Maxwell, Walter Carson or Agness Carson. If anyone is a descendent of Henry and Agness Carson Maxwell in the U.S., I've got quite a bit of information available.

Finally, this is a marvelous site. Thanks to those who produced and maintain it.
