The Howard Maxwell estate in Glen Cove is was located on Red Spring Lane and just North of what is NOW, Woolsley Ave ( Woolsley did not extend to Red Spring Back then.) It was left to a daughter Louise who married a Whitney. The Estate upon her death was developed into what is now Whitney Circle. An upper middle class community with beautifull homes. She left one parcel to her caretakers. This contained the original cariage house and caretakers home.  I purchase this parcel 40 years ago.  Besides these two buildings there remains the originasl large front gates, and a watertower that serves as bedrooms for a home built against it.  If you have any other questions contact me at Hawk418@optonline.net.  I hope this has been helpfull to you.
